Normal Girls Rock

Normal Girls Just wanna have fun

Normal girls like me don’t ask questions. We just do what we’re told.

Normal girls like me don’t like the rules, but we also don’t like to break the rules.

Normal girls like me do all the right things, but somehow, things still just don’t feel right.

Normal girls like me want to be liked for who we are, not for what we do or what we have (or who we date or hang out with or…)

Normal girls like me want balance. We may not know to call it that yet, but we know we want it.

Normal girls like me want to be understood (so please stop misunderstanding our intentions already. I mean can’t you see how big our heart is?)

Normal girls like me hide a lot behind sarcasm and busy-ness and blending in with the crowd (but holy shit are you missing out because we do this.)

Normal girls like me are tired of hiding. We want to just freakin’ be able to show up as ourselves.

Normal girls like me are curious. Eventually we’re gonna want to know WHY.

Normal girls like me like being a part of the mainstream (it kind of makes us feel worthy,) but we still want to be able to show up as ourselves AND be acccepted for it.

Normal girls like me want life to be less complicated and more fun, but we also tend to be our own biggest hurdle when it comes to achieving this state in our lives.

Normal girls like me get that life has responsibilites, but we wonder why being responsible has to be such a downer.

Normal girls like me are bold. We were born to question the status quo, to take risks, to live big.

Normal girls like me want flexibility and structure all rolled into one, so we can explore but also stay safe.

Normal girls like me don’t like drama. Don’t bring yours into our lives. We totally love you and want to help, but in the mean time, it’s gonna bring us down too. We feel what you feel. It’s just the way we are.

With normal girls like me, you get a whole lot more than what you see at first glance. We are sophisticated yet playful, driven yet down-to-earth. We are anything but normal. We are brilliant and amazing and funny. We know we have a lot to offer and that there’s way more to life than meets the eye — and in a really good way. Okay, sure, we could use a little encouragement and a cheerleader or two. So maybe you could tell us we can, in fact, do anything we set our minds to.

Yes, we are normal girls and we are ANYTHING but normal. We are ROCK STARS! So look out world, because here we come and we’re ready to roll.

    Yes!

It took me nearly 50 years to figure this out. And I am taking the rock star quite literally … there is a drum set in my living room that I’m learning to play.

Congratulations, Shannon, on new site launch. It’s fabulous. Kudos to you and your design team. Well done.

HI Shannon, Thanks for this much needed website! Married & Rockin it at 49, raising two daughters 16 & 10 whom I want to embrace being a girl without contraints!! They don’t fear mistakes, striving to find joy and walk to the beat of their own drum, which is a hard road at times. Can’t wait to see what you have in store, we’ll keep tuning it to your site!

    Hey Dina!

It is so awesome to have you here! I am so glad to hear you are rockin’ it and teaching your girls to rock to their own music too! Yes, it can be hard at times, but what we seem to ignore is how hard it is to try to be somebody we’re not. Showing up considtently as our most genuine self is really easier, and the absolute best choice, in the long run. Tell your girls I said to keep on loving themselves and believing in themselves and to follow the path that makes them feel happy! And you too, Momma rock star!

    Keepin’ it real,
    Shannon
